Steam Utilisation

Designed to take engineers from “how steam is formed” to testing traps. The course covers the basic principles of steam and steam tables, which every piece of equipment on your plant is designed around.
The course is “hands-on” and is aimed at all engineers, mechanical and electrical. As we limit the number of delegates on the course, they have direct access to the Lecturer/Course Leader.

  • Trap sizing, installation and application

  • Boiler layout
  • Basic water treatment
  • Glass working models operation, testing and fault finding
  • Hard pipe station, effects of back pressure on floats, thermostatic, thermodynamic and inverted bucket traps
  • Applications and Installations
  • Pressure reduction, pipe sizing, correct workshop practice
  • Assessment (if required)
